What is the Hilliard Ohio Soccer Association (aka HOSA -- Locomotive SC)?
HOSA is a 501-c3 non-profit organization with a simple mission in mind, serve our community by providing any interested girl or boy the opportunity to play soccer, regardless of age or ability. We offer a variety of different programs which are furthered detailed in the "Programs" tab.
Do I have to live in Hilliard to participate in one of HOSA’s programs?
HOSA's programs are open to any interested soccer player regardless of home address.
What programs does HOSA offer?
Locomotive Recreation for ages 6-12 (includes 13 year olds in the 6th grade)
Locomotive 4s (formally PK Paws) for 4-year olds which includes both parent and child in all activities
Locomotive 5s offers all 5-year old children one 60 minute session per week, 30 minutes are given to training and 30 minutes to game play Locomotive Academy Previously Junior Academy) focuses on skill development for children ages 6-7
Fall recreation programs for Middle and High School age students not playing for their school teams
Spring teams for Middle and High School age students (gender specific and/or co-ed) to compete with similar central Ohio teams
Locomotive SC is the competitive (travel) program for ages 8-19; L53 teams focus on local play while L76 teams compete at the highest levels; all teams are formed via annual tryouts in June.
TOPSoccer serves 5-19 year-old special needs players.

How are age groups determined?
Per the USYSA, effective August 1, 2016, age groups will be determined by year of birth rather than date of birth. Example, for 2016-17, a child's age group will be based upon the age they turn in 2017. A complete guide is available on our registration page.
How many seasons do you offer and when are sign-ups?
All programs are offered during the Fall and Spring. Fall registration opens June 1; Spring registration begins in late December. Competitive program tryouts are held annually in late May-early June.
How can I register?
All program registrations are completed via our website. First time registrants must create an account, existing HOSA members simply log into their existing account. You can request your username and/or password when logging in if you have forgotten them.
How do I pay?
Payments are handled through our secure on-line system by credit card.
Are there refunds of any sort given?
Each program and team budget is based upon the number of registered players. Therefore, refunds cannot be given. However, in unique circumstances (job relocation out of state for example) a pro-rated reimbursement may be possible.
Do you grant requests for placement on a team or with another player?
Siblings of the same age can be placed together on a team. Please note this in the comment section of the online registration.
If I volunteer to coach in one of the parent coached programs will my child be on my team?
How do I volunteer?
You can volunteer when registering your child for a program. The registration format will prompt you. Or you can go back online to your account and click on the Volunteer tab section and then click on the Add/Edit Volunteer Role button and proceed through the prompts.
What night are practices?
Practice schedules vary by program but are generally scheduled for week nights.
What about uniforms/equipment needed?
Uniform and equipment requirements vary by program. Complete details can be found in each program description. A soccer ball, shin guards, soccer socks, cleats and a full water bottle are generally needed for all programs.

Where are practices and games held?
Facilities vary by program. While the Hilliard Soccer Complex is our primary home, we may also use other Park locations throughout Hilliard. Please use the "PROGRAMS" and "FIELD" tabs for specifics.
How do I know if a practice or training session is canceled?
Schedule changes due to weather or other circumstances will be posted on the website and communicated directly by the coach of each team.
How do I become a referee?
Anyone at least 14 years of age may register as a Locomotive Recreation Program official. Beginning July 1 Please click here to register in our system . HOSA provides free training for all referees.
What if I lose something at one of the fields?
The Hilliard soccer complex has a lost and found bin located against the white shed. Please check there first. You can email email@example.com to share about the lost item in case someone has emailed us about finding it.
Can I bring my pet with me to the soccer fields?
HOSA policy is no pets at any of our fields, even if they are on a leash.
May I attend a HOSA Board meeting?
Yes you can. The board meeting information is on our web site under the About Us tab.
