FC42 & HOSA Announce Partnership for 2019-2020 Season

(Hilliard, OH - March 15, 2019) – FC42 and HOSA Locomotive SC are pleased to announce the affiliation of their two clubs that will expand player development opportunities in Hilliard, Ohio beginning with the 2019-2020 season. The alignment of our organizations, under the banner ‘FC42 West’, will enhance and expand both premier and select soccer playing opportunities for every Ohio youth soccer player in the Hilliard area.

In addition, FC42 West will be added to the FC42 organization with programming now being offered in Hilliard. This new partnership is committed to long-term player development in all recreational, competitive and premier programs while cultivating a lifelong passion for the game.

Locomotive SC players seeking to play at the premier level will now have a path in Hilliard through FC42 West for U13 through U19. Locomotive SC will continue to provide recreational and competitive youth programs in Hilliard for players in the U4 through U12 age groups. In addition, U13-U19 players seeking OCL /MOSSL level opportunities will still compete under Locomotive SC.

Locomotive SC President, Bill Morris, described the excitement that this affiliation brings to players in the Hilliard area.  “This partnership provides additional opportunities for the kids of Hilliard to develop their skills on a new level. It also announces to the Ohio soccer community that Hilliard is moving forward to offer soccer opportunities at an increasing competitive level. Locomotive SC is the premier organization for soccer in the Hilliard area and this affiliation cements our club in that role for the foreseeable future.  Players who want premier soccer will find what we exclusively offer very exciting.”

For the 2019-2020 seasonal year, FC42 and Locomotive SC will be holding combined tryouts for those players looking to form Hilliard U13-U19 premier level teams to play competitively at the highest levels. Tryout dates and times will be announced at a later date.

In the coming weeks, FC42 and Locomotive SC will be scheduling town halls and club meetings to share more detailed information with families and prospective players regarding this new partnership.

FC42 was founded in 2012 and has been one of the most competitive U13 through U19 soccer experiences in Central Ohio with teams competing in the National Premier Leagues (NPL), Midwest Regional League (MRL), Ohio South State League (OSSL) and Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League (BPYSL) against the best teams in Central Ohio, Ohio South and Region II. 

Locomotive SC is the club designation for the Hilliard Ohio Soccer Association (HOSA). HOSA was formed in 1976 as a volunteer organization to coordinate and govern soccer activities for Hilliard residents. They’ve grown from 6 teams in 1976 to serving over 2000 kids each season. In 2016, HOSA celebrated 40 years of serving Hilliard and surrounding communities. In conjunction with City leaders, they announced that all programs would operate under the name Locomotive SC as part of their milestone celebrations.
